Wedding cruise packages are the cruise line’s bundle of ceremony essentials. They make the day simple, but they are not the whole wedding, and the details differ a great deal from line to line.
A typical package includes a ceremony venue on the ship or ashore, an officiant, a coordinator who confirms the details before you sail and someone on board who runs the day, plus a handful of touches such as a bouquet, a small cake, sparkling wine or a dinner for the couple. Higher tiers add a reception space, music, photography or spa time. What a package rarely includes is the fare itself, your guests’ cabins, a full dinner for everyone and gratuities for extra services.
Examples From the Lines’ Own Pages
| Line | What its official page describes | Source |

| Royal Caribbean | Packages including The Knot at Sea, Love Sets Sail (a boarding-day ceremony that sailing and non-sailing guests can attend) and Forever Yours (the couple alone or up to 18 guests), with add-ons such as musicians, flowers and photography; pricing comes from a wedding specialist. | Royal Caribbean cruise weddings page |

Questions to Ask Before You Pick a Package
- Is the ceremony legal, symbolic, or either, on this ship and date?
- Who officiates, and can we meet or speak with them first?
- How many guests does the package cover, and where does a larger group go?
- Is the venue indoors, outdoors, or weather dependent?
- What time of day are ceremonies held, and how long do we have the space?
- Can non-sailing guests attend, and what do they need to come aboard?
- What does a reception for all our guests add, and where would it be?
- When is payment due, and what is the cancellation policy for the package?

Package or Custom Plan?
Packages are best when you want simplicity and a ceremony for a modest number of people. A custom plan suits couples with a large guest list, a specific venue such as a pool deck or a specialty restaurant, or a port wedding with a local planner. Many couples combine both: a line package for the ceremony and a private event for the dinner afterwards. Whichever you choose, the guests’ cabins are booked separately, ideally in a wedding guest block.

Wedding Cruise Package Questions
Does a wedding cruise package include the reception?
Sometimes a small one, often not. Many packages cover the ceremony, a venue, an officiant and a few extras such as flowers, a cake or a dinner for the couple. A full reception for every guest is usually arranged separately as a private event, so ask for it in writing.
Can we bring our own photographer or officiant?
Rules vary by line. Outside vendors normally need the line’s approval and must book as passengers or obtain visitor passes for a port-day ceremony. Ask before you hire anyone.
Are package guest limits strict?
Yes, as a rule. Each package states how many guests it covers, and larger numbers usually mean a different venue or a private event. Princess, for example, lists its largest at-sea package for the couple plus up to 18 guests.
